Sagacity Media needed a full magazine designed in three weeks when they normally have six. I was up for the task designing a piece to reach over 125,000 people.

CHALLENGE & SOLUTION

In a whirlwind of three weeks, I created an entire Travel Tacoma + Pierce County Visitor Magazine as a new contractor for Sagacity Media (Seattle Met Magazine). Branding was established for specific sections of the magazine. However, the feature stories were in my creative control while staying on brand. The magazine covers the wealth of dining, art, culture and outdoor adventure found in Tacoma and surrounding communities.

As the Designer for this project, I was tasked with designing the magazine cover to cover which included 48 pages plus covers. I sourced all images, created custom hand-drawn typography and designed all layouts. I highlight this project because it demonstrates how quickly I can pickup an entirely new role in a new company, and successfully bring a big project to life. The magazine went to print on time and on budget with a circulation of 125,000.

Designing the individual sections as unique stories was a fun problem to solve. The pieces needed to come together in a cohesive collection, but stand out on their own.
